The Coast Salish Keyboard App was designed to allow users to enter common phonetic characters into iOS devices, including iPhones and iPads running iOS 8.3 or later. This app adds the ability to type Coast Salish phonetic characters directly into your devices text fields, including word processing/note-taking, social media, and messaging apps.

This is a generic keyboard which should support many of the phonetic characters required for various Coast Salish dialects. The characters are arranged into 2 keyboards. The first keyboard offers standard vowels (including accented vowels) and consonants (including those with caron and glottal markers) and raised w and z modifiers. The second keyboard offers numbers, commonly used linguistic characters (a full glottal stop, L variations, stress markers), numbers and standard punctuation. You can enable the standard letters, the phonetic characters, or both.

The Coast Salish Keyboard app also includes installation instructions and directions for enabling specific keyboards.
